Then take a guided tour around Inveraray Castle, an imposing home with four conical spires built by the Campbell family between 1746 and 1789. Browse around the nearby town before crossing the mysterious Rannoch Moor. Drive through Glen Coe, a spectacular glen made famous by the Campbells' massacre of the Clan Macdonald in 1692 to Ballachulish on the coast. (B, D)
Day 3 - Tue: Isle of Skye & Clan Donald Centre
This morning take the “Road to the Isles” through some of Scotland's loveliest scenery, stopping for photos at the Glenfinnan Monument. Drive through the island and return to the mainland by bridge, stopping for photos at the famous Eilean Donan Castle. Continue along the shores of Loch Ness and view the huge ruins of Urquhart Castle before continuing to your hotel in Inverness. (B, D)
Day 4 - Wed: Sheepdog Trials & Culloden Battlefield
Visit Leault Farm to see sheepdogs herding, bottle-feed lambs and watch sheep-shearing. Drive to Culloden Moor to tour the Visitor Centre. Walk around the battlefield where, on 16th April 1746, British Government forces defeated the army of Prince Charles Edward Stuart. Day 5 - Thu: Glenfiddich Whisky Distillery & Royal Deeside
Drive into Speyside, the region where many of Scotland's famous distilleries are located. Tour the Glenfiddich Distillery and enjoy a “wee dram.” Travel through the lovely scenery of Aberdeenshire with gentle hills and farms into Royal Deeside, an area that came into favour with Queen Victoria during the 19th century. Near Banchory stop at the Falls of Feugh, a charming tea shop to sample afternoon tea with delicious freshly-baked scones and enjoy a talk on Highland life. (B, D)

On July 31 to August 21 departures enjoy the Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle. (B)
